Picture shows BCC Chairman Chris Dearing presenting a cheque for £250 to fellow BCC member Eamonn Finlay following his completion of the Annual charity cycle ride organised for The Yorkshire Air Ambulance by Huddersfield Town AFC

The charity for Huddersfield Town is the “YAA”.
For the last 7 years the Chairman and a growing number of its supporters, cycle and raise a lot of money for the YAA.

Before this event began the grand total was at £1.4 million pounds. It costs around £12000 per day to keep the YAA up!

This year’s ride was from the Dortmund stadium in Germany to Huddersfield in the 4 days before the last league game of the season. The full trip was limited to numbers but as it incorporated a ferry trip back from  Rotterdam to the “Culture City of Hull”. It was decided to open the ride up to more supporters for the “Hull to Home” last leg of the journey.

A total of 150 riders covered all the 480 miles and the other 150 covered the last leg, earning around £1000 per 10 miles cycled.

I would like to thank the BCC for their backing on behalf of the YAA and HTFC for the generous cheque in support of the “keep it up” campaign.

I will keep you informed on the total raised as soon as its known.
